Attention, greater Raleigh: Life Time’s fourth athletic country club in the area (and fifth overall in the state) has arrived. Life Time Alston Town Center joins Life Time Raleigh, Life Time Cary, and Life Time Apex in bringing a healthy way of life to the “City of Oaks.”
Accessible off Highway 55, the club is located in the heart of Alston Town Center, nestled conveniently among retail, dining, and other amenities.
“The Raleigh area hasn’t seen a Life Time grand opening since 2015, and the brand has evolved quite a bit since then,” says Derek Baker, lead general for Life Time Alston Town Center who’s been with Life Time since 2014. “Life Time Alston Town Center brings the latest and greatest of Life Time’s amenities and offerings so members in the community can feel empowered to live healthier, happier lives.”
Let’s explore the 92,000-square-foot Life Time Alston Town Center space:

When you walk in, you can see the LifeCafe and lounge space. Stop in for a nutritious meal or snack or grab a protein shake to go after your workout. Tip: Order through the Life Time app for an expedited experience. You can grab your favorite LTH supplements here, too.
The first floor is also home to the LifeSpa — a full-service salon and spa offering body, skin, hair, and nail treatments.
For members who need to work while on the go, you can set up your laptop or take calls in the Life Time Work Lounge, a free, open-plan, community-style coworking area. (Learn more: “What Is the Life Time Work Club Lounge?”)
“As a member at Life Time Alston Town Center, you can do everything in one stop,” says Baker. “You can have your coffee and breakfast in the morning at LifeCafe, get your workout in, and then settle down to work in our lounge — with a whole lot of options for additional activities if time allows.”

You can access the luxurious men’s and women’s locker rooms on the first floor, both featuring a full hydrotherapy suite experience with a sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and cold plunge. Here, you can feel pampered in spaces dedicated to your recovery and relaxation.
You can also swim laps or do a water workout in the indoor lap and lesson pool.
Parents can leave their kids — ages 3 months to 11 years — at the Kids Academy while they make use of other areas in the club. The Kids Academy features a movement studio, an activity studio, an art and language studio, two kids’ gyms, a toddler area, and an infant area. Kids can learn, play, and grow with engaging and enriching age-specific programming and classes. With a Junior Membership, parents can use up to 2.5 hours of child care per day.
Another unique perk of a Junior Membership is unlimited monthly kids and tweens events. Parents can enjoy an evening on their own — at the club or elsewhere — with regular Parents Night Out and Tween Takeover events, which always feature fun themes.
Families can also enroll in School-Break Camps for those days when school is out and the kids need something to do.
“As a parent, you want to know your kids are being taken care of while participating in activities that strengthen their minds and their bodies — that’s the Kids Academy philosophy,” says Baker. “We have phenomenal team members who care about creating enriching experiences for kids.”

Up on the second level, discover the expansive workout floor, where you can find free weights, state-of-the-art cardio and resistance-training machines, as well as designated stretching areas. It’s easy to build a sustainable fitness routine when everything you need is available in one convenient space.
Members seeking a more individualized fitness experience or added guidance and accountability can connect one-on-one with a Dynamic Personal Trainer (at an additional cost). (Learn more: “Achieve Your Fitness Goals With Dynamic Personal Training.”)
This is also where you can partake in GTX, Alpha, and Ultra Fit signature group training classes. GTX is a 50/50 blend of cardio and strength work; Alpha is centered around Olympic weightlifting and metabolic conditioning; and Ultra Fit combines sprint-interval training with balance and strength moves. GTX and Ultra Fit operate in a shared space, while Alpha has its own dedicated area.

There are six studio spaces used for Pilates, yoga, MB360, barre, cycling, and other unique-to-Life-Time group fitness classes. These classes are taught by top performers with options for people at all fitness levels and areas of interest. (Learn more: “Why Life Time Classes Are for Everyone.”)
The new club also offers Life Time’s newest class format, Core Tone Reform (CTR). This is a high-energy, low-impact athletic reformer workout designed for all fitness levels. (Learn more: “Core, Tone, Reform: What is CTR at Life Time?”)
After your workout, wind down in the LT Recovery zone, where you can find HydroMassage lounge chairs, CryoLounge chairs, Normatec compression therapy devices, and Hyperice vibration therapy devices. (Learn more: “How to Use 3 Popular Recovery Tools at Life Time.”)
Additionally, Life Time Alston Town Center features a LifeClinic with two treatment rooms, where licensed chiropractors are available by appointment (at an additional cost) to help alleviate pain or discomfort so you can move and function at your best. (Learn more: “Why LifeClinic?”)

There are also three indoor and six outdoor pickleball courts, so players can pickle rain or shine. The club’s outdoor courts also include a lounge space. At Life Time Alston Center, members can book Intro to Pickleball lessons, reserve court time, compete in club-hosted leagues, and more.
“What I love about pickleball is that anyone can play it,” says Baker. “Life Time Alston Town Center’s pickleball lead oversees the club’s pickleball programming, assisting any member — whether they’re 9 years old or 90 years old — in playing the sport successfully.”
Also outdoors at Life Time Alston Town Center, members can relax on the luxurious resort-like pool deck, which features an outdoor bistro and bar serving poolside food and drinks. A lap pool, leisure pool, waterslides, cabanas, and lounging furniture are all here for your enjoyment so you can feel pampered while relaxing by the water.
“I feel we have the opportunity to create something special at Life Time Alston Town Center,” says Baker. “We’re aiming to become a premier healthy-living destination in the Raleigh market. Here, you can feel comfortable knowing your family is taken care of.”
