Take on a fitness challenge — for a good cause? That’s the heart of Ride of a Life Time. In response to an alarming trending decline in children’s health, this initiative began in 2021 to inspire communities to take action and provides the opportunity to support children’s health while staying active. It all culminates in a celebration of fitness and philanthropy across Life Time clubs nationwide, this year taking place on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
To get all the details of this year’s fundraising event, we spoke with Payton Erickson, marketing specialist for the Life Time Foundation.
Life Time | What is Ride of a Life Time? What causes does it support?
Payton Erickson | Ride of a Life Time is a collaborative, month-long fundraising effort leading up to a single-day fitness event and celebration at Life Time clubs across the United States. The funds raised are split evenly between two impactful organizations: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Life Time Foundation. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provides critical healthcare services and support for children and their families and the Life Time Foundation focuses its efforts on the health of the next generation by supporting programs for youth nutrition, youth movement, and a healthy planet.
Together, these two organizations embody a shared mission at the heart of Ride of a Life Time: to support kids at the most critical moments in their lives, ensuring their health and well-being today while paving the way for a brighter, healthier future.
LT | What can participants expect on the day of the event?
PE | Participants of all fitness levels can look forward to an unforgettable experience featuring a variety of workout options. This year’s Ride of a Life Time event introduces three exciting options, with each Life Time club offering a unique experience for participants. Clubs may host a large-scale workout event, an engaging class crawl, or designate their regular Saturday classes as fundraising classes with 100 percent of the proceeds supporting the causes.
Classes will vary by club with options of 45, 60, 75, 90, or 120 minutes. With the expanded lineup of activities, this year’s event is set to inspire more movement and rally a large community. Afterward, participants are invited to stay and celebrate with a social gathering featuring LifeCafe food and refreshments.
Check your club’s schedule to learn more about the event experiences at your location.
LT | What is different for 2025 from past years’ events?
PE | In the past, Ride of a Life Time has been a cycle-focused event. This year, it’s expanding to include a variety of Life Time class formats. Class formats will vary by club. The word “ride” now represents the movement we’re creating in the fight for children’s health.
LT | What are the options for participating?
PE | There are two main ways to participate in Ride of a Life Time:
Join the event: Sign up to take part in the in-person workout experience at your local Life Time club. When you register, you’ll create an individual fundraising page and join your local club fundraising team to raise funds for children’s health.
Donate: If you’re unable to attend but still want to make an impact, you can support the cause by donating to an individual participant’s fundraising goal or to a local Life Time club’s fundraising team.
LT | Do you have tips for fundraising? Is there a suggested goal for fundraising?
PE | Collectively, Ride of a Life Time aims to raise $1.5 million for this year’s event. As for individual goals, participants are encouraged to set a goal that feels meaningful and achievable to them — whether it’s based on personal milestones, a specific dollar amount, or the impact they want to make. Sharing your story, using social media, and reaching out to friends and family are great ways to rally support. Every single dollar raised — whether it’s $1, $10, $100, $1,000, or beyond — makes a difference. Together, every effort adds up to create a lasting impact for children’s health.
LT | Can non-Life-Time members participate?
PE | Yes, non-members can participate in Ride of a Life Time by submitting the Non-Member Registration Form. Make sure to select the club where you plan to participate when filling out the form. The studio leader at that club will contact you to help you register.
