Life Time’s presence in the state where “everything is bigger” continues to grow: Texas welcomed its 30th destination when Life Time Missouri City opened in late summer 2023.
This athletic country club features plenty of space for members to refresh, unwind, and prioritize their health, including dedicated class studios and training areas, an expansive workout floor, a Kids Academy, a LifeCafe, a LifeSpa, pickleball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, and more.
“My vision for Life Time Missouri City is for it to be a true athletic country club, something this community hasn’t seen before,” says Heidi Jo Medina, general manager. “Many of the residents in this area are fitness-focused and we’re going to be able to offer them an elevated experience including, but also well beyond, a robust fitness floor. I think Life Time is the perfect offering for the community.”
Life Time Missouri City spans across 124,238 square feet of space, giving you a wealth of areas to explore. Here, we offer a sneak peek.
Wade in the waters of the indoor leisure pool or dedicated kids and adults pools, and enjoy the outdoor Beach Club experience. This features an additional leisure pool and a six-lane lap pool, as well as a whirlpool, water slides, cabana-style seating and lounge chairs, and a poolside bistro.
“I’m excited to offer members an outdoor pool area that includes both space for families to splash around and play, as well as more adult-focused amenities with outdoor bar offerings and a country club feel,” says Medina.
There is a robust swim program, including offerings for swim lessons, swim team, and potentially opportunities for Masters swim programming. “In this area, there are a lot of competitive swim teams and that’s also an offering that Life Time does really well.”
Those ready to grab a paddle and play the fastest-growing sport in the country can do so across four outdoor and three indoor pickleball courts, with opportunities for open play, lessons, and leagues.
There are six designated studio spaces: two for studio-class formats and one each for indoor cycling, Pilates, yoga, and barre. Members can try a variety of classes — led by the area’s top instructors — every week.
Members can also venture onto the workout floor and make use of a variety of equipment including cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, Olympic-lifting platforms, and more. The workout floor is also where you’ll find spaces and equipment for our GTX, Alpha, and Ultra Fit signature group training formats.
The highly educated Dynamic Personal Trainers at Life Time Missouri City are eager to partner with members on their fitness aspirations. “I want to have every type of trainer so no matter who you are as a member, when you walk in the door, you’ll find someone who can support you in living the journey you want to be on,” says Medina.

Relaxation is an essential part of healthy living, and the onsite LifeSpa makes it easier with full offerings for body, hair, nails, and skin. “This is the place to go if you need to decompress,” says Medina. “You can achieve balance, relaxation, and self-care here.”
Members can also find reprieve in the executive locker rooms, with amenities that include a sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. They’ll have access to fresh towel service, daily lockers, and complimentary personal-care products, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hairspray, razors, and more.
If your child is between the ages of 3 months and 11 years, the Kids Academy is a place for them to learn, play, and grow with other kids their age. The Kids Academy team provides healthy and fun programming in a safe environment.
Included in a junior membership, members can drop off their kids for up to 2 hours of complimentary child care daily while they’re at the club. “I’ve always loved our Kids Academy and think it’s a wonderful offering for our members and junior members,” says Medina. “The fact that you can come to the club, bring your kids, and enjoy your healthy-way-of-life time while your kids are engaged and active, learning and discovering what their own healthy-way-of-life looks like, is something that’s truly unique. This athletic country club has something for everyone in the family.”
When hunger strikes, the LifeCafe is your stop for a nutritious meal. Members can also lounge in the cafe area, or set up shop to work in the Life Time Work Club Lounge (for an additional membership fee). This is a dedicated coworking space offering quiet rooms, desks, conference room access, and phone booths for Life Time Work members.
“This is a great spot to bring your laptop and get some work done — and it make it easier to fit a sweat session into your workday,” says Medina. “Since Life Time is so focused on health and wellness, this lounge workspace is designed with your health and productivity in mind. You can work and play from the club!”

What is your experience with Life Time — and how did you get into this role as general manager?
I joined Life Time in 2017 as an account manager for the grand opening of Life Time Cypress. I was then promoted to assistant sales manager for the grand opening of Life Time Baybrook in 2018, sales manager for the grand opening of Life Time Greenway in 2019, and senior sales manager in the same year overseeing our Greenway and Galleria clubs, as well as assisting with the grand opening of Life Time GreenStreet.
In 2019, I was also sent to help train the sales team for Life Time Brookfield (the first Wisconsin destination), and was voted the first-ever Brookfield Service Champion; this is awarded to an individual who the club leaders believe delivers impeccable service and goes above and beyond for team members and members.
I then returned to the Cypress location in 2021 as a member concierge leader. In addition to my normal role, I’ve been a speaker for Life Time’s DEI initiatives nationally and became active in the Inclusion Council locally. I also served as the Houston captain for WELL (an affinity group at Life Time that’s supports women in using their leadership voices).
In 2022, I was invited into Life Time’s general manager certification process and General Manager Connectivate, which is a high-level leadership and training program. I had the privilege of partnering with my senior general manager, Thomas Kobersky, helping to run the Cypress location and getting invaluable experience with a high-level leader. I was identified as someone with the leadership and knowledge to become a general manager, and after working at Cypress as a member concierge leader, I was promoted to general manager at Life Time Missouri City.
What excites you about the opening of Life Time Missouri City?
When the opportunity to apply for the grand opening of Life Time Missouri City arose, I knew I could accomplish amazing things with my grand opening and operational experience. It’s overwhelmingly exciting to share my passion for all that Life Time does for our members and communities. We truly change — and sometimes even save — lives.
Ultimately, what excites me most about the grand opening of Life Time Missouri City is that I have the honor of helping to immaculately build the brand and create a team member culture in which individuals love what they do and who they do it with.
Why do you believe in a healthy way of life, and how do you incorporate that mission into your days?
I have always been an athlete. When I was growing up, I played soccer, was a competitive weightlifter, ran cross country and track, and was a collegiate cheerleader. Ensuring my body was healthy, strong, and functional has always been important to me and a large part of my life.
I also strongly believe in living a healthy lifestyle in order to live a happy life. During my postpartum time, living healthy helped to ease the postpartum depression and physically recover from the surgery. At that tough time, it was the thing that helped me recover mentally and physically.
Life Time’s mission is something that is ingrained in who I am. My background is in education, though. I was an elementary school teacher and coach and have always been a lifelong learner. I try and focus my days on developing and empowering my team so they continuously grow. I also feel a strong passion for helping members learn how they can reach their goals by finding a sustainable healthy way of life that they truly enjoy.
Is there anything people might be surprised to learn about you? And what’s your favorite way to use Life Time?
I am a former roller derby girl and a pageant queen. My team named me, “Miss Ameri-CRASH.” At the time I started to play roller derby, I was the current Miss Pensacola USA and Miss Asian World. I also spent years writing a health and fitness column and had the chance to travel the world writing, competing in fitness, and modeling for health and wellness brands.
My favorite way to use Life Time is either by doing Alpha or spending time there with my family. I adore taking my 2-year-old daughter, Ophelia Jo, to swim lessons and to play pickleball with her and my mom. When my older sister visits, we try and do a yoga FLOW class, then relax and recover with a massage in the LifeSpa.
I don’t think there is anything more special than sharing what I love and what I do with the people I love most in the world.
