A new Life Time athletic country club is coming to Sarasota, Fla.: Opening in October 2026, Life Time Lakewood Ranch will join the community of the same name in Manatee and Sarasota counties.
This will be the ninth Life Time location in Florida. However, with the nearest Life Time — Life Time Harbour Island — located 64 miles away, the opportunity is ripe for a comprehensive healthy way of life offering. “The community has been calling out for a club of its own,” says Steve Datte, lead general for Life Time Lakewood Ranch.
Life Time is known for its 185 physical club locations across the United States and Canada that offer resort-like amenities, high-end health and fitness programming, and community-focused experiences. Its mission is to help members from 90 days to 90 years old live healthier, happier lives.
“Although Life Time has made its mark in many communities across Florida, Life Time Lakewood Ranch is the first in the Sarasota area, giving us the opportunity to introduce many new people to our spaces and offerings — and, more importantly, to make a transformative change in their health and well-being,” says Datte. “With more Life Time clubs to come to the state in the future, we hope to deliver the healthy way of life experiences to many more Floridian communities.”
Amenities across the 86,000-square-foot club will include:
- A resort-style outdoor beach club with lap and leisure pools, waterslides, private cabanas, lounge seating, and bistro dining.
- Five outdoor pickleball courts with tournament-style lighting for evening play. There will also be three indoor pickleball courts with a dedicated viewing space, plus beginner instruction, open play, leagues, and tournaments.
- An expansive workout area with free weights, state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, and a dedicated recovery space.
- Recovery amenities that include HydroMassage lounge chairs, CryoLounge chairs, Normatec compression therapy, and Hyperice vibration devices.
- Luxury dressing rooms with hydrotherapy suites featuring saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, and cold plunges.
- Signature group training programs — GTX, Alpha, MB360, and Ultra Fit — included with your membership. GTX is a 50/50 blend of cardio and strength work; Alpha is centered around Olympic weightlifting and metabolic conditioning; Ultra Fit blends strength and stability work with sprint interval training; and MB360 is a mind-body program that melds meditation and mobility work with functional strength and conditioning exercises.
- Five boutique-style studios, including one each for CTR (which stands for “Core Tone Reform” and is Life Time’s athletic reformer format), Pilates, barre, yoga, and other unique-to-Life-Time group fitness classes.
- A comprehensive Kids Academy featuring a movement studio, toddler area, infant room, kids’ gymnasium, activity studio, and outdoor play area for ages 3 months to 11 years.
- Junior Membership benefits that include up to 2.5 hours of daily child care, unlimited monthly kids and tweens events, and access to summer camp and school-break camps.
- A Life Time Work Club Lounge with flexible workspaces.
- A full-service LifeSpa offering skincare, body treatments, and hair and nail services, alongside LifeClinic chiropractic care by appointment.
The waitlist sign-up for Life Time Lakewood Ranch begins in July 2026, with membership sign-up following shortly after. Once you’re on the waitlist, you’ll have the opportunity to become a Life Time member before the club’s grand opening and receive exclusive preopening benefits.
