Make a mocha, almond-butter, or vegan bulletproof coffee at home with these recipes.

Whether you’re trying to eat healthy fats for lasting energy, mental clarity, or to curb cravings  — or you just want to spend a fun Tuesday morning in the test kitchen — bulletproof coffees are the way to go.

Make your own bulletproof at home with these three variations. Any of them can be made caffeine-free — just be sure to choose coffee that has been decaffeinated using only water and no chemical solvents.

Mocha

  • 10–12 oz. dark-roast organic coffee
  • 1 tbs. grassfed butter or ghee
  • 1 tbs. MCT oil or coconut oil
  • 1 tbs. cacao butter
  • 2 tsp. cocoa nibs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla powder or vanilla essence
  • 1 tbs. coconut milk powder and/or coconut cream (the solid part of a can of full-fat coconut milk)

Blend all ingredients, using a blender or immersion blender, until frothy and cocoa nibs are well incorporated.

Almond Butter

  • 10–12 oz. dark-roast organic coffee
  • 1 tbs. grassfed butter or ghee
  • 1 tbs. MCT oil or coconut oil
  • 1 1/2–2 tbs. smooth almond butter
  • 1/2–1 tsp. cinnamon

Blend all ingredients, using a blender or immersion blender, until frothy.

Vegan

  • 10–12 oz. dark-roast organic coffee
  • 1 tbs. MCT oil
  • 1 tbs. coconut oil
  • 1–2 tbs. coconut milk powder and/or coconut cream (the solid part of a can of full-fat coconut milk)

Blend all ingredients, using a blender or immersion blender, until frothy.
