Life Time Lakeshore–Irvine is the fourth Life Time location in southern California, and is now open. The athletic country club is a place for anyone and everyone looking to pursue a healthy way of life, including individuals and families, and the corporate executives, employees, and business owners who work in the surrounding area.

“We anticipate members coming from Fashion Island, the Newport Coast, Newport Beach, and the surrounding area,” says Sonja Mains, general manager of Life Time Lakeshore–Irvine. “While our next closest club, Life Time Laguna Niguel, is only about 13 miles away, the addition of this location allows us the opportunity to serve even more members on their health journey, which I am greatly passionate about.”

Life Time Lakeshore–Irvine resides in Lakeshore Towers, a 900,000-square-foot development that will also feature new restaurant tenants and a one-acre outdoor park.

Let’s explore the 94,000-square-feet of club space.

The executive locker rooms offer not only the amenities needed to get ready for the next part of your day, but also a place to relax and unwind. “The whirlpool is in a closed-in area creating a quiet atmosphere where you can just enjoy your time and listen to your own thoughts,” says Mains.

Steps away from the whirlpool is the steam room and dry sauna. Those are also located next to the showers, providing a convenient area for some “me-time.”

“We have a very nice lounge area in the executive locker rooms as well,” shares Mains. “I’m really excited for this area and just the calming nature of it. It’s a revive and recharge space.”

Members can use the fresh towel services, daily lockers, and complimentary personal-care products like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

For further self-care needs, there is a full LifeSpa for members to embrace hair, skin, body, and nail treatments.

Life Time Lakeshore–Irvine offers a LifeCafe and a bar. These spaces are next to a lounge, creating a unique area for members to relax and unwind.

“This space is near large windows that allow plenty of natural light to fill the indoor space,” says Mains. “It’s a fun area of the club that is truly going to be a place for all. Whether you’re waiting for your friends to arrive at the club, waiting for your significant other to be done enjoying their club experience, or gathering as a family to grab dinner, I see this as a space people want to just stay in.”

Members can take a dip in the outdoor, five-lane lap pool, and spend time on the pool deck lounging or socializing. “The pool area is going to offer a resort-like feel where you can come in and relax or do whatever you want to in that space. I can envision members doing a water workout and then lying out in the sun, putting their toes in the water while watching their kids splash, or grabbing a bite from the outdoor bistro to eat under the sun.”

“I expect pool-deck attendance to ebb and flow depending on the time of day, so each member can find their preferred rhythm when using the pool,” says Mains. “For example, I anticipate some families coming to the pool in the middle of the day with young kids to lounge, swim, and eat at the bistro. We’ll also likely have a rush of lap swimmers that come in before and after work. Then, on the weekends, I think we’ll see members coming just for fun in the sun!”

Members will be able to experience Dynamic Personal Training, a newer-to-Life Time approach to one-on-one training that’s aimed at helping members take their fitness results — and experiences — to the next level. (For more on Dynamic Personal Training, check out this article.)

The expansive workout floor is spread out across three stories. Here, members can find free weights, cardiovascular- and resistance-training machines, and designated stretching areas.

This is also where GTX, Alpha, and Ultra Fit signature group training classes are held. “We have an elevated space for a GTX training center, as well as a dedicated space for Alpha and Ultra Fit,” says Mains. “Whatever the member desires, there’s a space categorized for their training needs.”

Life Time Lakeshore–Irvine also offers a wide variety of classes in their cycle studio, Pilates studio, barre studio, two yoga studios, and two other studios designated for group-format classes such as Warrior Sculpt, Gluteus Maxout, and Barbell Strength.

In addition to the workout floor and studio spaces, there is a full-size basketball court. “I would love to see adult leagues running at this Life Time for basketball!” says Mains. The basketball court will be multipurpose, as it’s also being lined for members who want to play pickleball.

The Kids Academy has a kid’s gym, open play area, infant room, toddler area, art and movement studios, sport court, and an outdoor play area. There is robust offerings and programming for younger members at this athletic country club, including the ability for parents to take advantage of up to 2.5 hours of child care daily. “We’re excited to see families and kids utilize this space at Life Time,” says Mains. “And we encourage families to use our full-size basketball court during open play hours as well.”
