Summer naturally invites us to connect, move, and engage. The longer days and warmer evenings create ideal conditions for gatherings, which benefit our mental and physical well-being. When we’re socially connected, our brains release feel-good chemicals that improve mood and resilience.

Your Life Time athletic country club makes it easy to boost your social health, with events specially planned for the summer months that bring together fresh air, movement, and community.

“We’ve learned that our members desire experiences where they’re able to socialize outside in elevated settings, and those are the opportunities Life Time is prepared to deliver this summer,” says Art Johnson, senior manager of events and sponsorship marketing at Life Time.

“Last year we debuted two events, Fire and Ice and Casa Playa, which, by popular demand, will return alongside longstanding member-favorite events Summer Solstice and AfterGlo. If you’ve had fun at any of them before, you can expect the same unique experiences but with even more refinement, and if this will be your first time joining us, you’re in for a good time,” he says.

Below is a sneak peek of what to expect at each of the four summer events. Join in to recharge and rediscover the simple joy of connecting with others.

June

Summer Solstice

Date: June 20

Envision this: You’re flowing through yoga poses as the sun’s soft rays warm your skin and your muscles begin to loosen and lengthen. A gentle breeze moves through, and with each breath, heat builds steadily from within. Around you, others are moving to the same rhythm; breath syncs with motion and energy quietly rises.

“This is the experience of the Summer Solstice event,” says Johnson. “Held on the longest day of the year, this yoga event is an invitation to reset, reconnect, and move with intention under the open sky. Prepare to sweat more and move for longer than your usual yoga class.”

Taking place either on the club’s rooftop, on the pool deck, or on turf, the 60-to-90-minute workout involves a series of yoga poses; it’s followed by a post-class social. This event is an opportunity to come together and celebrate the new season by strengthening your mind-body connection and mingling with other yogis.

Who this is for: All adults are welcome; this event is ideal for yogis of all levels.

Get ready to experience: A workout-focused event.

What to bring: A water bottle.

Keep an eye out for: Curated mocktails featuring LTH Hydrate, an electrolyte supplement that can support muscle function, endurance, and recovery.

July

Fire and Ice

Date: July 3–5 (date varies by club location)

The pool deck that normally serves as a backdrop for slow summer afternoons will be completely transformed for a high-energy Fourth of July celebration. This event serves as an elevated adult poolside party where members can sip, groove, and make new connections. Grab a spicy margarita from the “Flame Bar” or a cooling mint mojito from the “Frost Bar” and weave through a crowd dressed in fiery reds and cool blues as music pulses through the air. Feel the excitement rise and the energy build with every beat as you dance the day away.

“In addition to socializing with other members, you can expect elevated poolside experiences with themed cocktails or mocktails and food, games, and on-theme entertainment,” says Johnson. “This is Life Time’s modern and thrilling approach to the Fourth of July holiday.”

Who this is for: All adults are welcome; this event is ideal for young professionals, singles, and couples.

Get ready to experience: A social-focused event.

What to wear: A dress-to-impress outfit that represents either fire or ice.

Keep an eye out for: Specialty cocktails from the dual-themed “Flame Bar” and “Frost Bar,” as well as interactive experiences that lean into the fire-and-ice theme.

August

AfterGlo

Date: August 7–9 (date varies by club location)

Sight. Touch. Smell. Sound. Taste. These senses are at the heart of AfterGlo, an immersive workout experience that blends movement with mindfulness to engage all five. Set outdoors beneath the warm glow of a summer sunset, this near-end-of-summer celebration is an opportunity to let a sense of serenity wash over you as you wrap up the season.

“Prepare for the ultimate sensory experience,” says Johnson. “Each club hosting AfterGlo will deliver sensory-driven experiences in its own way. Expect a 60-to-90-minute workout, followed by a social. The goal of this event is for members to feel rejuvenated.”

Who this is for: All adults are welcome.

What to bring: A water bottle

Keep an eye out for: Feeling all five of your senses piqued throughout the evening.

Casa Playa

Date: August 28–31 (date varies by club location)

Imagine it’s one of the final nights of your tropical beach vacation and, instead of staying in, you slip away to the shore and dip a toe into the warm water under the glow of the soft moonlight. A quiet calm settles over you, along with a deep sense of satisfaction, as your vacation comes to an end.

Capture that same feeling at Casa Playa, Life Time’s end-of-summer nighttime pool event. “Casa Playa is meant to feel as if it was your last day at the beach,” Johnson says. “Your club’s pool deck will transform into a tropical oasis, where you can dance to live music or unwind in cabanas beneath the night sky.”

This nighttime event features Tulum-inspired cocktails and a curated menu highlighting the flavors of Mexico. There will be high-energy entertainment and interactive experiences, along with demonstrations and trials from LifeSpa and Dynamic Stretch.

Who’s it for: All adults are welcome; this event is ideal for young professionals, singles, and couples.
