Sometimes referred to as the “Beverly Hills of the south,” the Buckhead district in Atlanta, Ga. will be home to Life Time’s seventh destination in the metro area later this summer.
“Atlantans spend their time at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead when they’re looking for entertainment, shopping, or dining,” says Mishkat Lightwala, senior general manager at Life Time Buckhead. “We’re so excited to bring Life Time to the plaza as a place for residents to also spend time.”
“During the day, Buckhead swells to almost two-and-a-half times the population because it’s where so many people come in to work,” Lightwala explains. “Then, on the evenings and weekends, it becomes a nighttime destination. Our Life Time athletic country club will offer healthy-way-of-life convenience day or night, while our Life Time Work will provide another working-space option for professionals.”
Check out the spaces you’ll be able to enjoy when we open our doors in this community:
“Our No. 1 goal is to introduce the community of Buckhead to Life Time because it’s our first location in that immediate radius,” says Lightwala. “Throughout the club, members will find a dedicated group of educated team members who will offer a friendly and engaging experience.”
After entering our athletic country club and being greeted by our member concierge team, many members’ next stop is often our executive locker rooms. Get ready for your workout or for the rest of your day with complimentary amenities and toiletries, including fresh towels, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, hairspray, lotion, razors, and more. These spaces also contain whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms for optimal relaxation.
For all other pampering needs, our LifeSpa stylists and estheticians provide haircuts, hair color and treatments, body and skin services, massages, and manicures and pedicures.
Phipps Plaza is Buckhead’s place to be, and at Life Time, that place is the rooftop Beach Club. Wade in the pool, swim laps in the designated lap lanes, or lounge waterside. You can also munch on snacks and meals from our poolside bistro as well as refresh with sips from the pool deck’s drink menu.
There are a few options for places to enjoy a meal, snack or shake, or other beverage at Life Time Buckhead. “In addition to the bistro on our Beach Club pool deck, we’ll also have our traditional LifeCafe space as well as a separate lounge and bar space,” says Lightwala.
Our 23,000-square-foot workout floor is available for you to do your own workouts or to engage with one of our Dynamic Personal Trainers in one-on-one sessions. Or use the rows of cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, free weights, and dedicated stretching area. This is also where our GTX, Alpha, and UltraFit signature group training classes take place.
The workout floor will also be the first in the Atlanta area to feature a LT Recovery space. “This is a new offering we’ve started adding to our athletic country clubs in recent years to help our members’ recovery efforts, and we’re excited to introduce it to the region at Life Time Buckhead,” says Lightwala.
Here you can utilize high-tech recovery tools and methods including Normatec gear, hydromassage, and more.
Life Time Buckhead will also offer metabolic testing to help you identify your personal heart-rate zones and use the results to make better use of your workout time and formulate the right training plan for your body and goals.
For group-class goers, there will be dedicated spaces, including two yoga studios, a cycle studio, a Pilates studio, a Barre studio, and two studios for our other class formats.
Finding fun in movement isn’t just for adults here: Life Time Buckhead will feature a 6,300-square-foot Kids Academy with toddler and infant areas and three studios for programming including a kid’s gym, activity and movement studio, and an arts and language studio.
“The population in this area primarily consists of young families and working individuals,” explains Lightwala. “There’s nothing in the area that serves young families like this, especially in a way that gives parents the ability to make sure their kids are enriched and taken care of while they’re reaching their personal goals as well.”
Life Time Work Buckhead
Shortly after our Life Time Buckhead athletic country club opens, a Life Time Work coworking space will follow in fall 2022. This concept offers everything you need to elevate your workday and increase your productivity, along with also helping you reach your health goals — all Life Time Work memberships include access to the adjacent athletic country club.
“Buckhead is a beautiful and growing community with professionals from various industries who are seeking premium experiences, and we are excited to offer them a premium coworking space,” says Tyler Rodi, business development associate for Life Time Work. “Life Time Work is intentionally designed to provide a professional and welcoming environment and encourage healthy-lifestyle behaviors.”
Members can convene in state-of-the art conference rooms, deep dive into projects in private office spaces, gain motivating energy in open-concept areas, or find quiet in secluded phone booths.
“Every detail is considered to provide you with an unparalleled experience,” shares Rodi. Member-favorite features include sit-to-stand Herman Mills desks, ergonomic seating, secure and fast Wi-Fi, responsive tech support, fresh-brewed coffee, and complimentary parking.
“This coworking space can benefit a lot of different people,” explains Lightwala. “Many individuals who are working from home crave more space and social interactions — they can turn to Life Time Work for those needs. There are also a lot of startup tech companies in Atlanta, and those business owners and employees can find a place in our space as well.”
Members are also encouraged to engage in monthly events, sponsored happy hours, and other networking opportunities.
“Imagine stepping out of your workplace at the end of the day or for a break and be steps away from the Life Time athletic country club where you can enjoy a workout or relax at the outdoor pool deck,” says Rodi. “It is an experience that our members love, and we are excited to share this with the Buckhead community.”
