With more than 175 locations across the United States and Canada, Life Time continues to expand its healthy-living footprint, including in the Atlanta area. The bustling metropolis — the largest in the Southeast — is already home to seven athletic country clubs and two Life Time Work locations, and it’s set to have two more destinations in the coming months.

“As a member, you really get to take advantage of a blend of a lot of different offerings and communities when a market has nine athletic country clubs,” says Sharon Randall, area director for Life Time in Atlanta. “Members start crossing over from club to club. The different locations in the area complement each other, and the increase in presence continues to grow the Life Time identity in Atlanta.”

Let’s check out how the healthy-way-of-life offerings have evolved in Atlanta as of late.

A Resurgence in Life Time Club Openings

In 2022, Life Time Buckhead opened in the Buckhead district of Atlanta, Ga., making it the first athletic country club to open in the area in a decade. (Life Time Sandy Springs opened in 2012.)

“While we’ve had a solid network of longstanding clubs that our members know and love, it was exciting to see the new energy that came to the community when Life Time Buckhead opened in 2022,” says Randall. “And when you look at a club like Buckhead, with its rooftop pool, cabana rentals, and DJs on the weekend, Life Time really made an effort to expand its offerings for fun in this environment.”

Sometimes referred to as the “Beverly Hills of the south,” the Buckhead district features other opportunities for entertainment, as well as plenty of shops and restaurants. It has a large daytime population due to the number of people who commute to work in the area.

At Life Time Buckhead, members can bask in the sun on the rooftop pool, break a sweat in studio classes, tackle their workouts on the expansive workout floor, embrace recovery and relaxation in the locker rooms and LifeSpa, and more. (Read more: “Step Inside: Life Time Buckhead.”)

The other longstanding locations in the area include Life Time Alpharetta, Life Time Johns Creek, Life Time Peachtree Corners, Life Time Sandy Springs, Life Time Sugarloaf, and Life Time Woodstock.

“We’re now seeing members using multiple Life Time locations, and that’s a really cool thing,” says Randall. “Depending on their schedule, or even seasonally, members may gravitate toward different locations for different reasons. For example, on the weekends, we see families using the large pool deck at Sandy Springs, but then during the weekdays, many use Buckhead because it’s closer to their work. It’s our goal to provide that level of convenience for our members and their families with our network of athletic country clubs.”

Brand-New Life Time Club Locations

Just a 10-minute drive from Life Time Buckhead is Life Time North Druid Hills, which is opening in late 2024. This poised-to-be-iconic athletic country club promises to set the bar high in Atlanta’s healthy-living scene by providing exceptional and exclusive experiences for members.

North Druid Hills offers nine pickleball courts (including both indoor and outdoor options) and six outdoor tennis courts; five designated studios for indoor cycling, Pilates, barre, yoga, and other unique-to-Life-Time group-class formats; a variety of progressive signature group training classes; recovery options like the steam room, sauna, whirlpool, or cold plunge; an outdoor leisure pool and Beach Club; and more.

“Every club has a unique identity when it comes to their offerings,” says Randall. “It’s even exciting to see classes and formats take off at different clubs with unique performers. We’re eagerly awaiting seeing all that Life Time North Druid Hills has to offer!” (Read more: “Step Inside: Life Time North Druid Hills.”)

Shortly after Life Time North Druid Hills opens its doors, Life Time Perimeter will follow in 2025. The club features spaces and amenities those who are already familiar with Life Time know and love, including an outdoor Beach Club, tennis and pickleball courts, an expansive workout floor, bar and lounge, LT Recovery zone, and more.

“We’re seeing a lot of enthusiasm from existing members when a new club is announced to open — there’s a huge desire for growth for Life Time in the Atlanta market,” says Randall.

Bringing Pickleball to Peach Tree

Life Time Peachtree Corners originally opened in October 2013 and has enjoyed a steady and passionate community of members ever since, according to Randall. This club underwent a large expansion in fall 2024 and now offers four indoor tennis courts, 12 indoor pickleball courts, and 19 outdoor pickleball courts.

“Atlanta has always been primarily a tennis market for us,” says Randall. “With this remodel, we’re excited to bring that overall country club feel to our members and give them a greater racquet sports experience — with more tennis and the addition of pickleball. Tennis and pickleball are such complimentary sports; you’ll see many amazing tennis players go on to play pickleball because the skills required of the two sports translate to each other so well.”

Randall says the club is seeing a huge demand for large pickleball tournaments and events, including with the PPA (Professional Pickleball Association). Peachtree Corners has also hosted club-to-club tournaments with other Life Time locations in the area: For example, a team from Woodstock may play a team from Alpharetta or Johns Creek.

“We’ve been able to embrace opportunities to bring the communities from all different clubs together because of the courts and space we now have at Peachtree Corners,” says Randall. “And that’s the best service we can give to our members.”

Making Work a Healthier Place

Many Fortune 500 and 1000 companies are headquartered in Atlanta, including Delta Air Lines, The Coca-Cola Company, Equifax, the United Parcel Service (UPS), and more. Their employees contribute to the high population of corporate workers in this city.

Life Time opened its first Life Time Work locations in Atlanta in 2022, providing a space that can serve as a “third place” for a diverse range of established professionals, agile corporate employees, and entrepreneurs. Life Time Work is the first and only coworking concept that combines exceptional workspaces with a world-class health club experience.

The two Life Time Work locations in Atlanta include Life Time Work Sandy Springs and Life Time Work Buckhead.

The Sandy Springs location spans 116,000 square feet and is located across the street from the Life Time Sandy Springs athletic country club. Members can move easily between the two thanks to the complimentary parking between the buildings.

The Buckhead location is connected to the Life Time Buckhead athletic country club. “There’s a huge number of Life Time Work members who use the club on a consistent basis,” says Randall.

Life Time Work locations are designed to support a healthy workday, offering an array of spaces equipped with ergonomic furnishings — think large, open coworking areas; private offices and desks; private phone booths; and conference rooms — that allow professionals to be productive. Other amenities include a dedicated staff, secure and fast Wi-Fi, responsive tech support, printing capabilities, fresh coffee, healthy snacks, a community kitchen, and hosted events. The overall look and feel is sleek and modern, and the entire space is designed with your productivity in mind.

“Life Time Work is different from your traditional coworking space for a variety of reasons,” says Randall. “But personally, I think the most important reason is bridging the gap between work and health and fitness.”

Randall emphasizes the benefit of the proximity to the health club space. “Anyone who lives in Atlanta understands how awful Atlanta traffic is,” she says. “Having Life Time Work locations in the heart of the city is a game-changer. Being able to workout at 6 a.m. and then take an elevator ride upstairs or walk just a short distance to start your workday is extremely convenient.”

Members can grab a healthy breakfast, lunch, or dinner from the LifeCafe, exercise around their work schedule, and avoid having an extra commute between their home, work, and another exercise facility. “We’re building communities that are bringing people together beyond just their workout,” says Randall.
