For a quick addition to my regular farm chores and longer workouts, I follow our fitness director’s advice:
five burpees every day, and I add four pushups at the bottom of each burpee.
— Lydia Anderson,
executive creative director
Every-minute-on-the-minute (EMOM) kettlebell swings for 10 to 15 minutes — usually 20 reps each time. It’s a dynamic strength workout that gets my heart pumping too.
— Jamie Martin,
editor in chief
Dad strength is real:
My arms are bigger than ever from wrestling daily with my 40-pound toddler. Add the constant desperate sprints to keep him from running away in a store or into the middle of the road and I’d wager I could give Usain Bolt a run for his money.
— Cole Luskey,
business and circulation specialist
While I wait for the kettle to boil, I fling my leg high up on the kitchen island, barre-style, and S-T-R-E-T-C-H for a good 30 seconds. Then I fling the other leg up there and repeat. Then, I make tea.
— Anjula Razdan,
senior director–digital
My go-to is a
10-minute kettlebell EMOM:
10 heavy swings at the start of every minute for 10 minutes.
— Maggie Fazeli Fard,
editorial director of fitness
I love what I call my Backyard Bootcamp.
I grab my kettlebells and BOSU, then pull together a 20-minute intuitive, circuit-style workout with swings, squats, core work, and agility drills. And I do it all barefoot so I can enjoy the feeling of the grass between my toes.
— Christy Rice,
digital content specialist/special projects coordinator
