The computer-based version of NETA’s NCCA-accredited Personal Trainer Certification (NETA-CPT) exam is administered using live remote online proctoring services provided by ProctorU. Information is available on both our website and in NETA’s Exam Candidate Handbook.
NETA-Certified Personal Trainers are fitness professionals who promote wellness through healthy lifestyle behaviors. They accomplish this by developing and implementing safe, effective exercise programs. These programs are designed to meet the individual goals of clients they serve within NETA’s Code of Ethics. To earn NETA’s Personal Trainer Certification, candidates must pass the NCCA-accredited certification exam and hold a valid adult CPR/AED certification including a live hands-on practical skills evaluation. The certification exam was developed from the exam content outline including five areas of responsibility: Communication and Engagement, Client Intake and Assessments, Program Design, Program Implementation and Modification, and Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
