One-off kitchen items — like salad spinners — are expensive and clunky, taking up cupboard space that could be used to store even more dark chocolate. Here’s an old-timey trick I use to wash and dry salad greens:
Equipment needed:
- Dark leafy greens (as many as you want)
- One pillowcase (organic cotton without dyes if you have it, but any pillowcase will work!)
Wash your greens as you normally would. Shake them a bit dry in the sink. Then stuff them in the pillowcase, walk out to your backyard, and whip the pillowcase overheard in circles. All the water will come flying off. Done.
