If only there was a pill to ease the pain of prescription-drug sticker shock: A survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that up to 45 percent of Americans have trouble paying for their prescriptions and 26 percent of Americans don’t fill their prescriptions because they can’t afford it.

Enter GoodRx, a website and app that lets you enter the name of your prescription (e.g., penicillin, Prozac) and your ZIP code, and then produces a list of all area pharmacies and their prices for that drug. (Prices can vary dramatically from pharmacy to pharmacy.) The site isn’t selling anything or affiliated with any organization. Its only mission is to provide unbiased information — and save you money. Visit, or download the app, available for both Android and iPhone.
