As a Life Time member, you’re never far from the tools you need to live a healthy way of life. With 175-plus Life Time locations across the United States and Canada, as well as a healthy-living app that’s at your fingertips, taking a vacation doesn’t mean you have to neglect your health and fitness routine.
“When we travel, it’s a great way to open our bodies and minds up to new experiences, and that can extend to your health and fitness,” says Roz Frydberg, avid traveler, ARORA lead and group fitness coach at Life Time Woodbridge in Toronto, Canada. “Try a new class at a new-to-you club or open the app and find an on-demand workout you may not have tried before. It’s a great way to stay motivated no matter where you are in the world.”
To stick with your healthy-living goals no matter where you are, consider these options for staying connected to Life Time.
1. Find and explore a nearby Life Time.
With locations in more than 40 major markets, the chances of finding a Life Time near your destination are pretty good. Do some research ahead of time about your options, then consider checking out the nearest location. Find your favorite class on the schedule, or try something new.
There’s a good chance the club may have a few spaces or amenities that are different than those in your home club — take advantage of them!
Invite your travel companion to tag along — if they’re not a member, they can use a guest pass. Share all that the club has to offer with them, including self-care amenities like the sauna, steam room, whirlpool, cold plunge, and more.
Members have access to any club location during occasional travel outside of the home network of clubs in their state. For example, a member at Life Time in Pickerington, Ohio, who is traveling for the holidays to New York City can visit Life Time One Wall Street during their trip.
“One of my favorite things is when a member comes up to me and introduces themselves as a visitor from another club,” says Frydberg. “Here in Toronto, I recently met a couple from Texas, as well as a couple from California. It is so much fun to engage with them and hear their stories and experiences.”
This benefit is available for short-term travel (no longer than one week) and is subject to each club’s discretion. If you’re planning a trip, contact the club you’d like to visit for more information. (Learn more: “Enjoy a Healthy, Happy Holiday Season at Life Time.”)
Frydberg’s favorite ways to use the club while traveling:
- Take a class: “Traveling is all about having new experiences, so I would love to visit a new-to-me Life Time club and take a class to meet new people and instructors,” she says.
- Visit the spa and explore the amenities: “I love to do a little extra pampering on vacation with a visit to the LifeSpa — or just take a moment to relax among the resort-like amenities, including the sauna, steam room, or whirlpool.”
2. Tap into the Life Time app.
Whether you only have time for a quick hotel workout or are intent on keeping up with the training or nutrition program you’re enrolled in, the Life Time app provides an array of tools for living a healthy way of life — anytime, anywhere.
With a growing library of live-stream and on-demand classes, app-based workouts and nutrition programs, guided meditations, and award-winning health and wellness content (including articles from Experience Life, Life Time’s whole-life health and fitness magazine, and episodes of the Life Time Talks podcast), everything Life Time is in your hands no matter where you travel.
Frydberg’s favorite ways to use the Life Time app while traveling:
- Listen to Life Time Talks: “I love the anticipation of waiting to get on a flight, but I hate sitting still at the airport!” says Frydberg. “I use this time to walk the halls of the airport while listening to episodes of the Life Time Talks podcast in the Life Time app and devouring healthy-living information.”
- Explore on-demand classes: “While on holiday, I continue to explore the app and try to do a different on-demand class each day,” she says. “There are short and sweet workouts perfect for a quick burst of movement before you start a day of relaxing or adventuring.”
+ Note: Access to certain services, programs, amenities, or areas within a club (including outdoor pools and racquet courts) may be restricted, conditioned, or otherwise limited by specific terms and may require a separate or supplemental fee for access or use (e.g., your access to the outdoor pool area may require a separate fee and be limited to your designated club). Actual spaces may appear different depending on club. See club for additional terms and conditions that may apply.
Life Time’s access memberships generally afford access to a network of clubs based on recurring monthly dues rates at variable pricing determined by club and market. Life Time allows members access to clubs at a higher dues rate during occasional, short-term travel to markets outside their home markets. Where a member’s current membership does not allow access to a club in the market of their short-term visit, they may use a club at a higher dues rate in that market on a short-term basis (no longer than one week, subject to club discretion) without purchasing a One-Day Membership. This travel benefit is not available for travel within a market, or for longer-term, regular or routine work, vacation or seasonal living outside a member’s home market, which would require a membership upgrade, and is subject to all other membership terms and conditions and Guest & Club Policies. Membership levels, types, amenities, services, programs and their associated dues, pricing, fees and/or charges may vary by location and are subject to change.
